Outwardly cool, confident and untouchable, Squall is rarely seen without his Revolver gunblade. Having used his letter from Dusk Academy as an excuse to end a bad relationship, he's not comfortable letting anyone get too close just yet. [ Appearance ] – Standing at about 5' 11", Squall's chocolate-coloured hair and stormy grey-silver eyes make him an unintentional heart-throb/breaker, though his face is slashed across by a stark scar, left to right, that stretches from his brow down to below his right eye. Never seen without his Griever pendant, he prefers wearing dark colours with silver accesories. [ Personality ] – Squall often comes across as cold as his favoured Element, uncomfortable interacting with other people. Though an Empath, he has trouble understanding the reasons behind the emotions he senses, and while confident in his looks and skill, doesn't believe that anyone would want him for anything other than his body. Thus, he prefers to give others the cold shoulder before he gets hurt himself. [ History ] – Raised in an orphanage along with a handful of his friends, Squall was accepted into the prestigious SeeD academy of Balamb Garden on a scholarship, where he quickly became one of the rising stars. A lone wolf, he was still close friends with Rinoa, another student of SeeD, even going so far as to date her for almost a year. Somewhere along the way, however, it dissolved into a strong friendship instead without either of them noticing the change. It was Rinoa that encouraged him to try dating guys, which resulted in a long-term relationship with one Seifer Almasy. Believing what he was feeling through his Empath abilities to be love, Squall weathered out Seifer's temper and violent rages...Until the Dusk letter arrived. During an argument concerning whether Squall would accept his place or not, Seifer lost control of himself and attacked Squall, leaving the scar across his face. Defending himself, Squall inadvertedly caused a similar slash across the other's features, before ordering his ex from the house they shared. Within an hour, Squall was packed and gone, spending two weeks with Rinoa while his injury healed to a scar before leaving for Dusk. [ Pets ] – None. [ Other ? ] – Squall fights with a Revolver gunblade, hung with a charm that matches his lion pendant and ring. If somehow disarmed, his first weapon of choice is Icefire - a blue-and-white fire summoned in his hands, cold enough to burn just about anything it touches. While being an Empath - someone who can sense the emotions of others - Squall never revealed this to anyone but Rinoa, and thus never received training. This often leaves him confused or uncertain about what he is sensing, and why the other person is feeling the present emotions - which overall only increases his difficulties understanding others.
