History: After Seifer left him at Dusk Academy, Squall pulled his act together and set about repairing his relationship with his long-time lover, Yukio – which included facing his inner demons left by his torture at the hands of Demons. With a lot of help from his friends – and especially Yukio himself – Squall was able to face up to the task of bringing up his son-by-m-preg Elednor, and against all expectations even managed to find it in himself to love his little Angel.
His split-persona, Griever, finally gave up even trying to shape a life of his own once he realised his last hope – Laguna – had left the academy, along with Griever’s main nemesis, Seifer; and without a reason to try anymore he curled up in Squall’s core to sleep endlessly, having no way to kill himself, and just in case he was ever needed again as a protector. Squall hasn’t heard from him since they returned from Haell.
Taking a job as an assassin/mercenary for hire – a task that both pays well and leaves him a lot of time with his family – Squall has reached a good time in his life, and though he still bears the scars of his torture at Zyvian’s hands – including the shapeshifting powers that are a result of his twisted DNA – with love and help from those around him he has finally been able to turn the nightmares into armour. No one will ever hurt his family again.
